en.Wedoany.com Reported - Yinson Production, a subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur-based energy infrastructure and technology company Yinson Holdings, has held a naming ceremony for a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel. The vessel is planned for deployment at an oil field offshore Vietnam in Southeast Asia.

Yinson Production held the naming ceremony for FSO PTSC Lac Da Vang (FSO PTSC LDV) on June 23, marking a significant milestone before the vessel's deployment to the Lac Da Vang project offshore Vietnam.

The vessel is chartered to Murphy Cuu Long Bac Oil, a wholly owned subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corporation, under a contract with a fixed term of ten years and an option to extend for an additional five years, providing storage and offloading services for the Lac Da Vang oil field in Block 15-1/05.

Nearly a year after the steel-cutting ceremony was announced in February 2025 and the keel laying in July 2025, OceanSTAR Elite Group held a launching ceremony for the vessel on February 6, 2026, at Nantong Qiangsheng Shipyard in China. The naming ceremony is interpreted as another important milestone in the vessel's construction process, reflecting the joint efforts of the project team, partners, and various stakeholders in advancing the project to this stage.

Attendees at the ceremony included representatives from Yinson Production, PTSC, Murphy Oil Corporation, PetroVietnam, Ocean Marine & Offshore Investment, Nantong Qiangsheng Shipyard, and other project stakeholders.

FSO PTSC LDV is designed as a newbuild double-hull vessel with a storage capacity of approximately 500,000 barrels, integrating an advanced dual-fuel system that enhances operational efficiency while helping to reduce emissions.

According to Yinson Production, the vessel's design places a high priority on safety, operational excellence, and reliability. As the project enters the final stages of outfitting, commissioning, and testing, FSO PTSC LDV is preparing for its departure.

Upon arrival in Vietnam, the FSO will be deployed to the Lac Da Vang oil field and is expected to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2026. FSO PTSC LDV is anticipated to further strengthen the long-term partnership between Yinson Production and PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC).

Through PTSC Asia Pacific and other joint ventures, the two companies have operated offshore assets in Vietnam for over a decade, including FSO PTSC Bien Dong 01 since 2013 and FPSO PTSC Lam Son since 2014.

Flemming Guiducci Grønnegaard, CEO of Yinson Production, stated: "The naming of FSO PTSC LDV marks a significant step forward in our journey to deploy and achieve first production at the Lac Da Vang oil field."

"This project exemplifies our close partnership with PTSC and the tireless efforts of the team to bring the vessel to this stage. We look forward to continuing to support Vietnam's growing energy needs for many years to come."
