en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sungrow has launched its new PowerHarbor all-in-one battery inverter for residential applications at The Smarter E trade fair in Germany, Munich.

Andrea Polini, Head of Sungrow EU Solar/Storage, told pv magazine that this is the company's first all-in-one product for the residential sector. The key innovation of the system lies in its modular battery architecture. Unlike previous Sungrow battery systems, each module in the new design is equipped with its own optimizer, making each battery module fully independent and intelligently managed. Even old and new modules, installed years apart, can be combined, with the system automatically balancing their operation to ensure optimal performance throughout the product lifecycle.

According to the manufacturer, the architecture also enables smarter energy use. When full capacity is not needed, the system can selectively shut down battery modules, for example during nighttime or low household consumption periods in winter. By activating only the necessary modules, overall efficiency is improved and system lifespan is extended.

Polini continued that it supports powerful charge and discharge capabilities and is optimized for modern energy environments such as dynamic electricity pricing and participation in virtual power plants. Using AI-driven control, the system can predict solar production and household demand. For instance, if high solar production is expected later in the day, the system may delay morning charging and then concentrate charging during peak photovoltaic output. This allows the system to better capture and utilize solar peaks, achieving charging capacity up to 160% of rated power under peak charging conditions.

Polini added that the solution also comes with a new device called Energy Bridge, which acts as an integrated backup system. Designed in a compact circuit breaker format, it replaces the traditional household main circuit breaker and simplifies installation by eliminating the need for current transformer (CT) clamps. Under normal operation, electricity flows as usual; once a grid fault occurs, the Energy Bridge automatically disconnects from the grid and immediately enables the inverter's backup operation, ensuring uninterrupted power supply at up to the inverter's rated capacity.

The core of the system is a range of inverter power ratings tailored to different installation scales. The smaller series offers rated outputs of 10 kW, 12 kW, and 15 kW, while the larger series ranges from 17 kW to 30 kW. The company stated in a press release that the system provides flexible 10-30 kW rated power and 6-10 kWh battery module options, with energy storage expandable up to 120 kWh.

To maximize solar utilization during peak generation, the inverter supports 1.6x PV-to-battery fast charging capability. According to the manufacturer, low-capacity models offer up to 150% phase imbalance output, while the high-end model SH30TA supports up to 125%, ensuring stable performance even in unbalanced load scenarios.

Energy storage is provided through a stackable battery system based on 314 Ah ultra-capacity lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) prismatic cells. The modular architecture enables flexible expansion through various battery module options such as 6 kWh, 9 kWh, and 10 kWh. The battery reportedly achieves up to 10,000 cycle life under 90% depth of discharge test conditions.

Both the inverter and battery units achieve IP66 protection ratings. Sungrow stated that models rated at 15 kW and below offer fanless operation with noise levels below 35 dB(A). Up to 150% three-phase unbalanced output supports high-demand appliances such as electric vehicle chargers and heat pumps, even when household demand is unevenly distributed across phases.

From an installation perspective, the company said the system adopts a modular, stackable floor-standing design with no inter-module wiring required. Connection is simplified through RJ45 quick-connect interfaces and integration with the iHomeManager Mini, enabling advanced system control and energy optimization, allowing flexible indoor and outdoor installation.
