en.Wedoany.com Reported - Indian photovoltaic manufacturer EMMVEE has commissioned a 1.4 GW TOPCon solar cell production line based on M10 wafers, achieving a maximum cell efficiency of 25.4%. Following the completion of the expansion, the German equipment suppliers involved in the project received follow-up orders from EMMVEE.

The production line utilizes equipment from German manufacturers centrotherm, RENA Technologies, and halm. The expansion project was supported by the International Solar Energy Research Center Konstanz (ISC Konstanz), which collaborated with EMMVEE and equipment suppliers to provide process integration and technology transfer services.
EMMVEE, with decades of experience in solar module manufacturing, has now expanded upstream by establishing a 1.4 GW TOPCon solar cell production facility in Bangalore. centrotherm coordinated the line setup and brought in ISC Konstanz in early 2025 to support process integration and technology enhancement.
"The successful expansion and subsequent business demonstrate the value of close collaboration between equipment suppliers and technical experts," said Dr. Helge Haverkamp, CTO of centrotherm. "Together, we have proven that German engineering can achieve outstanding results in the competitive photovoltaic market." RENA Technologies provided wet chemical processing equipment for the line, including high-throughput solutions for surface texturing and cleaning, which are critical process steps for achieving high-efficiency TOPCon solar cells.
"Achieving a peak efficiency of 25.4% in a newly established production environment is an outstanding result," said Dr. Damian Brunner, Head of Solar R&D at RENA Technologies. "It demonstrates how advanced wet processing technology, combined with strong partners and highly committed customers, can accelerate the industrial deployment of next-generation solar cell technology." For the multi-gigawatt follow-up orders, RENA will supply multiple units of BatchTex 3 N600, InEtchSide 4+ BSG (borosilicate glass removal), InEtchSide 4+ PSG (phosphosilicate glass removal), BatchEtch 3 N600, and BatchPolyClean 3 N600 equipment. These tools are equipped with the latest and most efficient water, chemical, and power-saving solutions, featuring a small footprint to help customers reduce operational expenses (OPEX). Michael Vees, Sales Director for Solar at RENA, stated: "By providing our latest wet processing technology, we ensure that customers benefit from the industry's best cost of ownership (CoO), securing the long-term success of their factories."
ISC Konstanz supported the German equipment suppliers through on-site process integration and technology transfer activities, working closely with EMMVEE and project partners to establish a stable, high-performance production process.
