en.Wedoany.com Reported - The North Northamptonshire Council in the UK plans to carry out concentrated repair and upgrade works on multiple roads and bridges during the summer period when local road traffic volumes are lower.
With the start of the school summer holidays, traffic flow on roads in the area is expected to decrease. The council has scheduled construction plans for July and August to improve operational efficiency and reduce disruption to drivers.

The A6 Irthlingborough Viaduct will be subject to a 24-hour road closure from 8:00 PM on July 31 to 6:00 AM on August 10. Works include removing the existing road surface and reapplying waterproofing to the bridge deck, concrete repairs in areas where needed, and applying a new spray-applied waterproofing system. This work is weather-dependent and must be carried out in dry conditions. During the same closure period, routine maintenance works such as improvements to traffic signals on Station Road, drain cleaning, pothole repairs, and carriageway cleaning will also be carried out, along with a six-yearly structural inspection of the bridge.
On the A6003 from Oakley Roundabout to the A43 Geddington Bypass, coordinated works will take place from July 27 to July 31, daily between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, including street cleaning, ironwork adjustments, layby repairs, vegetation clearance, and litter picking.
In the Kettering area, due to high traffic volumes and its proximity to Wicksteed Park, the full resurfacing of Pytchley Road is scheduled for weekdays (9:30 AM to 3:30 PM) from July 25 to August 21. The work will be carried out in phases, and the council is coordinating with local bus companies to minimize impact on bus routes. Advance warning signs and diversion routes will be in place, with alternative route guidance provided for visitors heading to the park.
In Wellingborough, Black Potts Lane will see changes to the road layout and supporting infrastructure to improve traffic flow and safety, with works scheduled for August 11 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
In Thrapston, Bridge Street will undergo traffic signal renewal at the bridge, with works taking place on weekdays (9:30 AM to 3:30 PM) from July 20 to July 31.
