en.Wedoany.com Reported - Delta Air Lines has recently expanded its operations at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), now holding the second-largest market share at the airport by flight volume. The U.S. legacy carrier operates on a hub-and-spoke network, with Austin playing a key role as a focus city.

This year, Delta launched new routes from Austin to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport (SJC), while also adding Miami and Destin-Fort Walton Beach in Florida as new destinations. To the northwest, new destinations include Bozeman, Denver, and Kalispell; expansion to the northeast adds Columbus and Kansas City. In September, Delta stated that with these new routes, it "now serves nearly 30 destinations from AUS." Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning, said Delta is continuing to build on Austin, creating more travel options for customers, and called this another step in Delta's commitment to providing network, convenience, and a premium experience.

It then steadily grew, hitting a pre-pandemic peak of 8,790 in 2019. The global health crisis halved the total to 4,886 in 2020, but Delta rebounded quickly, reaching a new high of 8,945 in 2021. Growth has since accelerated, reaching 18,314 in 2025, with 2026 projected to set a new record of 21,405 flights.
