en.Wedoany.com Reported - Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), inspected Rangapara North, Dekargaon, and Tezpur stations, focusing on reviewing ongoing infrastructure projects, assessing future railway expansion plans, and evaluating regional operational efficiency.

The inspection began with a review of the redevelopment work at Rangapara North Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The station is being upgraded at a cost of over ₹55 crore, featuring modern passenger amenities, improved accessibility, and enhanced infrastructure. The review indicated that approximately 80% of the redevelopment work has been completed, with the remaining work progressing steadily towards completion. The redevelopment is expected to significantly enhance passenger convenience and strengthen the station's role as a key railway hub in Assam.

Mr. Shrivastava also inspected Dekargaon Station and its yard, reviewing the status of two important proposed railway lines. The Agthori–Dekargaon railway line via Darrang district and the Tezpur–Silghat railway line, including the proposed bridge over the Brahmaputra River, have completed survey work and are currently under review by central ministries. These railway projects are expected to strengthen regional connectivity, improve transport infrastructure, and support the socio-economic development of Assam and the Northeast.

As part of the inspection plan, the General Manager also visited the old Tezpur railway station, which is currently in a state of disuse. He reviewed the condition of the station building and related railway infrastructure to assess its current status and future development potential.

Mr. Shrivastava also conducted a window trailing inspection from Kamakhya to Dekargaon to assess railway infrastructure conditions and operational performance. During the journey, he reviewed tracks, bridges, stations, and other railway assets, while evaluating ongoing development work and identifying areas for improvement to further enhance safety, efficiency, and passenger services.

This inspection reflects the Northeast Frontier Railway's ongoing efforts to modernize railway infrastructure, upgrade passenger facilities, and expand connectivity in the Northeast region. Through the review of ongoing projects, NFR demonstrates its commitment to timely execution, improved operational standards, and long-term regional development.
