en.Wedoany.com Reported - WeiDu News, Infinite Composites Inc., a U.S. composite pressure vessel manufacturer headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been awarded a $2.9 million subcontract under NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program to manufacture two primary cryogenic propellant tanks for a lunar lander. This brings the company's total CLPS-related contract value to over $5.5 million.

Previous CLPS contracts covered pressurant tanks and attitude control system (RCS) tanks; this new contract marks the first time it covers the lander'stwo primary cryogenic propellant tanks. Founder and CEO Matt Villarreal stated that most of the work will be completed at the Tulsa facility. The target delivery date for the tanks is April 2027, and the customer is attempting to move the delivery date up to January 2027.

Michael Tate, founder and COO of Infinite Composites, said that since achieving flight heritage across multiple sectors in 2025, interest in the space sector, particularly lunar-related projects, has increased significantly. In 2025, the company announced that its products had successfully completed flight validation on geostationary orbit satellites, hypersonic vehicles, and hydrogen-powered drones.

According to the company, the lander is "one of the largest lunar landers ever built" and has recently completed a series of qualification tests, with an expected flight to the Moon inearly 2027. Over the past four years, Infinite Composites has partnered with three commercial companies to advance next-generation spacecraft to the Moon.

In May 2026, Infinite Composites announced the completion of equipment expansion funded by investors and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce Innovation Expansion Program (OIEP), enhancing its manufacturing capability and capacity for larger-diameter tanks. Since 2010, the company has provided advanced composite pressure vessels for the aerospace, unmanned systems, defense, and transportation sectors.
