I. Green Certificate Issuance
In May 2026, the National Energy Administration issued 358 million green certificates, covering 1.2569 million renewable energy power generation projects. Among these, 216 million certificates were tradable, accounting for 60.41%, indicating sufficient supply of market-circulated green certificates. This batch issued 236 million green certificates corresponding to renewable energy electricity generated in April 2026, accounting for 66.06%, with the proportion of current-period electricity issuance at a relatively high level. The number of green certificates issued for all types of renewable energy power generation increased this month, with conventional hydropower seeing the largest increase in green certificate issuance. 
II. Green Certificate Trading
In May 2026, 33.88 million green certificates were traded nationwide, including 7.41 million certificates from green electricity trading. By power source type, solar and wind power ranked as the top two in green certificate trading volume, serving as the core categories in market trading. 
In May 2026, 26.47 million green certificates were traded separately nationwide, with market prices showing a clear gradient based on the year of electricity production. Among these, 400,000 green certificates with electricity produced in 2024 were traded at an average price of 1.03 yuan per certificate; 18.19 million certificates with electricity produced in 2025 were traded at an average price of 4.31 yuan per certificate; and 4.08 million certificates with electricity produced in 2026 were traded at an average price of 5.76 yuan per certificate.
