WindEurope 2025: Deep Wind Strikes Estonian Deal
Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 13, Sunly, Deep Wind Offshore, and Valorem Group have entered into a partnership to advance the 1GW Tuul Energy offshore wind project in Estonia. The agreement, announced recently, outlines their joint commitment to developing this significant renewable energy initiative.
Under the terms of the deal, Valorem Group and Sunly will join Deep Wind Offshore’s project, located off the coast of Saaremaa Island. The collaboration focuses on constructing a bottom-fixed offshore wind farm, combining the strengths of all three companies to ensure its success. The project aligns with Estonia’s growing emphasis on sustainable energy development.
Olivier Angoulevant, director for offshore at Valorem Group, stated: “This partnership marks a significant milestone for Valorem Group in its international development. Together with Deep Wind Offshore and Sunly, we believe that the energy transition is built on cooperation and innovation. Thanks to the enlarged value proposition developed by Valorem Group for offshore projects, we will combine our expertise for this promising Estonian project.” His remarks highlight the group’s dedication to fostering global renewable energy solutions.
Klaus Pilar, Sunly’s country manager in Estonia, expressed enthusiasm for the project’s potential impact, saying: “We welcome Estonia’s shift towards a Clean Industry-focused approach, which accelerates renewable energy production and strengthens the industrial base. Sunly’s main expertise is in community relations. Knut Vassbotn, chief executive of Deep Wind Offshore, also shared his perspective, noting: “Securing exclusivity for a major offshore wind area in Estonia was a big win for Deep Wind Offshore. Bringing along Valorem Group and Sunly proves the willingness to commit to strong projects. In addition, the collaboration shows the increased interest for offshore wind in the region and that Estonia has created an attractive market.
