This acquisition strengthens the Piracanjuba Group's growth strategy in the Northeast region of Brazil and increases its number of factories in the country to 12. Located in the rural area of Monteirópolis, Alagoas (AL), the facility specializes in cheese and dairy production, marking progress in the group's industrial structure in a strategic region, with potential to enhance its logistics efficiency, production capacity, and competitiveness.

Luiz Claudio Lorenzo, President of the Piracanjuba Group, stated that the inclusion of Laticínio Sertão into the group is a significant step in the company's growth in the Northeast, opening space for new investments, the gradual evolution of the local production portfolio, and closer ties with local producers, customers, and consumers, thereby strengthening the company's cheese business and boosting competitiveness.

Founded in 1955, Laticínio Sertão has over 70 years of history in cheese and dairy production. Its main products include coalho cheese, mozzarella cheese, prato cheese, provolone cheese, ricotta cheese, cheddar cheese, requeijão cream cheese, and butter. Its distribution is currently concentrated in the Northeast region. The facility currently employs approximately 70 direct employees, primarily in factory functions.

The President emphasized that the group intends to retain all direct jobs and proceed in a planned manner, respecting the transition period and maintaining close ties with dairy farmers supplying the facility. According to the contract, control of the factory will be fully transferred to the Piracanjuba Group. Initially, products will continue to be produced under the Laticínio Sertão brand, then gradually transition to the Piracanjuba brand.

Rooted in the interior of Goiás state, the Piracanjuba Group has over 200 products under its portfolio, including brands such as Piracanjuba, Emana, LeitBom, and licensed brands Almond Breeze (almond beverage), Ninho, and Molico (long-life milk). It employs more than 4,700 people working across 12 factories and 15 milk cooling stations, with a daily processing capacity exceeding 7 million liters of milk. The group has been recognized as an excellent workplace, receiving the GPTW 2025 certification, which also awarded the company the Mental Health Seal (Great People Mental Health) with a two-star rating, due to its emotional well-being index being above average.
