The station covers eastern Kentucky and surrounding areas, equipped with four Kempower Flex Satellites supporting both NACS and CCS1 charging plug standards, with a total power output of 800 kilowatts.

The station design prioritizes user experience, featuring a drive-through accessible layout with a canopy, making it easy for all types of EV drivers to complete charging operations. Monil Malhotra, President of Kempower North America, stated that reliable and user-friendly charging infrastructure is crucial for promoting EV adoption, and the company will continue to expand driver-centric fast charging solutions in key areas of EV penetration.

This Kentucky station is the first of 12 projects delivered through the partnership between PowerUp and Kempower. Another 11 stations are under development in Georgia to expand the high-performance charging infrastructure network in the southeastern United States. Josh Turner, CEO of PowerUp, noted that the project demonstrates an infrastructure development approach centered on reliability, safety, and driving experience. He stated that this is the first step for PowerUp in investing in infrastructure that drivers can trust in many communities, and thanked the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Manchester community for their support.

Through ongoing collaboration, the two companies are expanding reliable charging facilities in the southeastern U.S., building an interconnected network that connects communities, supports regional travel, and facilitates EV transportation growth. Kempower and PowerUp will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:00 AM Eastern Time on July 24. The new charging station is located at 425 KY–80 Highway, Manchester, Kentucky (ZIP code 40962) and is open to the public 24 hours a day.
