en.Wedoany.com Reported - flydubai has announced the launch of daily flights from Dubai to Bangkok, adding a second destination in Thailand and further expanding its Southeast Asian network. The inaugural flight departed from Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport (DXB) and arrived at Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), where it received a water cannon salute and was welcomed by local officials.
The new route operates daily, offering travelers another direct option to the Thai capital, complementing flydubai's existing flights to Krabi. Don Mueang International Airport, located close to central Bangkok, provides convenient access to the city's business districts and tourist attractions.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, expressed delight in celebrating the launch of daily flights to Bangkok, further expanding the airline's network in Thailand. He noted that Thailand remains a key destination for both leisure and business travel, and the direct service to Don Mueang International Airport opens a new gateway to the Thai capital.
The launch comes amid growing travel demand between the UAE and Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand. According to data from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, from January 1 to June 21, 2026, the number of tourists from the Middle East reached 188,447. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, stated that the Middle East, particularly the UAE, is one of Thailand's most important long-haul markets, attracting high-quality, high-spending tourists. The route, operated by Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with daily frequencies, will add much-needed capacity to Thailand this summer, building momentum for the peak season at year-end.
Sudhir Sreedharan, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at flydubai, noted that the new route provides summer travel options for passengers from the UAE, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and other regions. The Bangkok route is part of a codeshare partnership between flydubai and Emirates, allowing passengers to book connecting itineraries on a single ticket, enjoy through-checked baggage, and access the networks of both airlines.
Flights depart daily from Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport. Round-trip Business Class fares for Dubai-Bangkok start at AED 11,100, while Economy Lite fares start at AED 3,000. For travelers flying from Bangkok to Dubai, round-trip Business Class fares start at THB 83,900, and Economy Lite fares start at THB 22,100. Bangkok is the latest addition to flydubai's expanding network, following the recent launch of flights to Benghazi, Libya, and with plans to commence flights to Pokhara, Nepal, starting in September.
