en.Wedoany.com Reported - On June 28, China's first "geothermal + biogas" industrial steam project, with the oilfield company as the main construction entity, was put into operation in the Dongying Economic Development Zone, Dongying City, Shandong Province, marking the formation of the company's "geothermal+" industrial innovation model and setting a benchmark for the large-scale application of new energy in the industrial heating sector.

The "geothermal + biogas" industrial steam project in the Dongying Economic and Technological Development Zone, Shandong, is a green energy coupling demonstration project controlled by the oilfield company. The project adopts a dual green energy coupling process of "geothermal + biogas," using medium-deep geothermal heat to preheat boiler feedwater, combined with biomass gasification combustion for supplementary energy, to produce superheated steam at 1.6 MPa and 250°C. It is equipped with two 35-ton/hour steam boilers, one carbon slag boiler, six 15-ton/hour gasifiers, and 5,800 meters of steam pipeline network, forming a steam supply capacity of 74 tons/hour, with an annual heat supply of 1.18 million GJ, equivalent to a heating area of 4.72 million square meters. It can provide centralized steam supply services to the New Materials Industrial Park in the Dongying Economic and Technological Development Zone, solving the problems of enterprises in the park relying on gas boilers, high steam costs, and non-compliance with environmental policies.

The project adheres to the principle of "balanced extraction and injection, same-layer reinjection," drilling one new extraction well and one injection well to fully utilize the region's stable geothermal resources and abundant biomass feedstock, achieving efficient resource recycling. After commissioning, it can save 40,300 tons of standard coal annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 87,300 tons per year. The steam price is significantly lower than that of gas boilers, offering both notable environmental benefits and economic competitiveness.

As China's first "geothermal + biogas" industrial steam project, its technical route is mature and reliable, forming a scalable and replicable "green energy + industrial energy supply" development model, setting a benchmark for the large-scale application of new energy in the industrial heating sector.
