Rhino Resources hits pay in Namibia well

The Capricornus-1A appraisal well, drilled in Block 2914 of the Orange Basin, encountered a total reservoir interval of 46 meters. Preliminary analysis of downhole pressure data indicates that the sandstone reservoir is in pressure communication with the Capricornus-1X discovery. Core, pressure, and wireline log data will be integrated with results from previous wells to support further evaluation and exploration.

Chief Executive Officer Travis Smithard stated that the Capricornus-1A well provided critical information, deepening the understanding of the Capricornus reservoir system geometry. Confirming pressure communication with the Capricornus-1X discovery provides evidence of reservoir continuity across the accumulation and enhances drilling confidence as evaluation of the Capricornus discovery progresses.

Headquartered in Cape Town, Rhino Resources is an independent exploration and production company with operations in South Africa and Namibia. In Namibia, the company operates the offshore PEL 85 license in the Orange Basin, while in South Africa, it is exploring for onshore biogenic gas, helium, and natural hydrogen.
