en.Wedoany.com Reported - UK infrastructure investment company Actis has entered the Polish renewable energy market by acquiring Klara Renewables, with the transaction sourced from infrastructure equity fund manager CVC DIF.

The acquired assets include a 171MW operational onshore wind portfolio, along with an additional 275MW of potential hybrid capacity through co-located solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. All operational wind projects are supported by contracts for difference, with coverage extending to 2038-39, and utilize turbine technology from Vestas.
Actis already has a presence in the region, with its Rezolv Energy platform, established in Romania and Bulgaria in July 2022, now reaching a capacity of 2.3GW. This acquisition of Klara Renewables and the launch of a new platform mark Actis' second renewable energy initiative in Central and Eastern Europe.
The newly launched Polish platform will target onshore wind, solar PV, and BESS, with a total target capacity of 1.5GW. The acquired assets are distributed across multiple regions in Poland, including three wind projects in Greater Poland Voivodeship, two in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, and one in Podlaskie Voivodeship.
The platform plans to add value through the acquisition and development of more late-stage projects, including hybrid generation, leveraging Klara Renewables' existing grid connections. Jaroslava Korpanec, Head of Central and Eastern Europe at Actis, stated that Poland is one of the most exciting energy investment markets in Europe, benefiting from an open, regulated electricity market and a strong institutional and regulatory framework. The company looks forward to building a high-quality power generation platform and, as energy security and independence continue to be top priorities for governments and consumers, will strive to build and operate key assets to help Poland manage its energy transition, support its competitiveness, and enhance its long-term resilience.
