en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dimension News, recently, Fuel Oil Company, in collaboration with Lubricant Company, supplied Great Wall Lubricant to the "DE148" container ship, the world's largest methanol dual-fuel 24,000 TEU-class vessel, in Dalian, Liaoning. This operation achieved the domestic substitution of high-end marine oil products, demonstrating the integrated coordination capability of the Sinopec marine oil supply chain.
The "DE148" container ship is equipped with an advanced methanol dual-fuel power system, which imposes high technical requirements on the supporting oil products. Built by Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering for COSCO Shipping Lines, this vessel is the first in a series of 12 methanol dual-fuel ultra-large container ships ordered by COSCO Shipping Group. Its design, using green methanol as fuel, enables near-zero carbon emissions.
For this bunkering task, Fuel Oil Company and Lubricant Company jointly established a special task force, accurately grasping the ship's oil technical parameters and bunkering requirements. The task force customized a dedicated fuel supply operation plan and emergency response plan based on the vessel's characteristics, operational site, and port environment, and conducted multiple rounds of safety drills for the ship's extended operation time to ensure comprehensive risk control. With professional capabilities and meticulous service, this bunkering operation earned high recognition from the customer.
Great Wall Lubricant is a major lubricant production and sales brand in Asia, offering over 2,000 products in 21 categories, including marine oils, widely used in various manufacturing sectors. As early as November 2025, Great Wall Lubricant successfully won the bid for the complete set of lubricating grease supply project for this vessel, and this bunkering operation represents the implementation following the bid award. This operation also marks the first cooperation between Great Wall Lubricant and COSCO Shipping Lines in the lubricant project for methanol dual-fuel ultra-large container ships.
