en.Wedoany.com Reported - From July 17 to 19, 2026, the municipality of Silvia in the department of Cauca will host the eighth edition of the Feria Silvia 360 Grados, a platform aimed at integrating the agricultural, livestock, and entrepreneurial sectors of local rural and indigenous communities.

The event is organized by Corporación 360 Grados in collaboration with the municipal government, and will take place at the Silvia Stadium. Approximately 70 entrepreneurs are expected to participate, attracting 5,000 visitors over the long holiday weekend. Silvia Mayor Juan Carlos López stated that the main objective of the fair is to revitalize the local economy following recent impacts on tourism in the Cauca department. The fair will feature a sample of over 200 registered livestock, cultural performances, and a business agenda focused on local products.
The highlight of this year's fair is the strawberry value chain. Strawberries are an expanding agricultural product in the municipality, with a current monthly production of nearly 200 tons, involving over 200 associated producers from the company Fruversil. The mayor noted that the challenge is to move beyond fresh sales and introduce value-added processing. With support from trained culinary staff, processed derivatives will showcase alternatives for fruit transformation. Additionally, the municipal government is opening markets for other local red berries and wild berries, such as blackberries and Andean blueberries, the latter of which is undergoing agricultural domestication.
As a continuation of the business agenda and in commemoration of the Silvia Market Square, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary of operation in August, authorities confirmed that a regional barter event will be held eight days after the fair. This self-managed economic exchange will invite producers from neighboring municipalities such as Caldono, Jambaló, Piendamó, Páez, and Totoró. The event follows the traditional model of directly exchanging temperate climate foods (such as plantains and cassava) for high-altitude products (such as potatoes, oca, and milk), aiming to strengthen inter-municipal supply and food security.
