en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has announced the formation of the India Artificial Intelligence Committee (AICI), aiming to bring together policymakers, startups, tech companies, and universities to accelerate the development of India's AI ecosystem.

The AICI's objectives focus on strengthening AI research, improving accessibility and reducing costs of high-performance computing resources such as graphics processing units (GPUs), while promoting open-source AI tools in sectors including healthcare, agriculture, education, manufacturing, and finance. The committee plans to enhance India's position in the global AI landscape by hosting an annual "India AI Summit" and establishing AI clubs at universities to help students gain practical experience.
Maharashtra's IT Minister Ashish Shelar stated that the government will fully support leveraging AI to drive economic growth. Neelkanth Mishra of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council emphasized that supporting top-tier research can help attract more investment.
