en.Wedoany.com Reported - NTPC Limited announced that the third and final phase of its 176 MW solar photovoltaic project in Ramagundam, Telangana, with a capacity of 41.6 MW, commenced commercial operations on June 30, 2026.
Including all three phases of the project, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has reached 90,899 MW, with a commercial capacity of 89,819 MW. Previously, the first and second phases of the project were commissioned on May 2 and May 29, 2026, with capacities of 100 MW and 34.4 MW, respectively. With the commissioning of the final 41.6 MW phase, the entire 176 MW solar photovoltaic project in Ramagundam has achieved full commercial operations.
Management stated that these projects will support NTPC's renewable energy targets, as the company plans to add approximately 8 GW of renewable energy capacity. In fiscal year 2027, the company plans to add a total capacity of 9,557 MW across thermal, hydro, and renewable energy sectors, with renewables accounting for 8,237 MW. Of the planned total renewable energy capacity, 176 MW will come from standalone projects, while 9,381 MW will be added through joint ventures and subsidiaries. In fiscal year 2028, NTPC plans to add a total capacity of 10,039 MW, including 1,460 MW of thermal power, 444 MW of hydropower, and 8,135 MW of renewable energy capacity.
