Founded in 2015 by CEO Ewan Ferguson and CTO Chris Templeton, FullProxy is headquartered in Glasgow and provides cybersecurity consulting services to public and private sector organizations across the UK. The company has expertise in network design and implementation, cloud certification, and endpoint security, serving data-sensitive sectors including healthcare, local government, financial services, and critical infrastructure, with clients such as the UK's National Health Service (NHS), the Scottish Government, Virgin Money, and FNZ. FullProxy is a Fortinet Expert Certified Partner and an F5 Elite Gold Partner, has been listed on TechUK's Tech200 growth companies list, and has twice been shortlisted for Scottish Cybersecurity Company of the Year at the Scottish Cyber Awards.

Ferguson stated that over the past decade, FullProxy has been built around a belief: helping clients solve complex cybersecurity challenges and achieve return on investment through expert advice, technical capability, and long-term trust relationships. Recent growth has demonstrated the quality of talent, customer trust, and partnership strength. He believes joining Viatel gives the company an opportunity to continue building on this success.

Viatel said the acquisition will further strengthen its "core cybersecurity capabilities" against a backdrop of growing pressure on organizations to secure complex digital infrastructure and prepare for broader AI deployment. Viatel Technology Group CEO Paul Rellis noted that as clients adopt AI and manage increasingly complex digital assets, the need for deep cybersecurity expertise has become more urgent. FullProxy enhances Viatel's position as a comprehensive technology partner with expertise in security, networking, and digital services, and improves its ability to deliver solutions aligned with client priorities. He also stated that this represents a strong endorsement of its cybersecurity division and long-term strategy to help organizations build resilience and develop securely for the future.

FullProxy is the latest in a series of technology companies acquired by Viatel in recent years. Last year, the company acquired the Belfast-based network business of UK IT service provider Cybit. In 2024, Viatel acquired the technology division of managed print services company MJ Flood in a deal reportedly worth €30 million; in 2023, it acquired US-based cloud connectivity infrastructure provider Sungard Availability Services, marking its eighth acquisition since 2020. Other acquisitions include Wifiber, Nova Telecom, Irish Telecom, SupportIT, and ActionPoint.
