en.Wedoany.com Reported - Oktogrid recently announced the completion of approximately €4 million in funding, led by Elewit, the technology platform of Redeia, with participation from Inclimo Climate Tech Fund, ABB, Delphinus Venture Capital, and other investors. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Copenhagen, the company was established by Golam Sadeghnia, focusing on developing non-intrusive monitoring technology and AI-based asset management software for power transformers.

Transformers: Maximizing System Performance and Resilience as a Source of Information

The company states that its technology aims to replace traditional manual inspections and limited real-time data with non-intrusive monitoring and AI management software, helping asset managers transition from reactive to predictive maintenance. Oktogrid uses a patented magnetic sensor that can be installed in less than 15 minutes, combined with an AI software platform to convert data into fault predictions, maintenance recommendations, capacity optimization, and lifespan estimates.

Oktogrid currently serves nearly 50 customers, including 12 new utility companies added in the past 24 months, with operations spanning three continents. The company monitors over 1,000 megawatts of critical infrastructure, accumulating more than 5 million hours of transformer operational data. Its technology has detected 26 early-stage faults, freed up over 8,600 hours of technical workload, unlocked 198 MVA of additional capacity, and extended the average lifespan of monitored assets by 15 years.

Elena de Benavides, Director of Innovation and Technology at Redeia and Director of Elewit, stated that the company supports technologies addressing key challenges in the energy transition, and Oktogrid has demonstrated value in enhancing grid management and resilience. Katrine Riisberg of Delphinus Venture Capital noted that founder Golam Sadeghnia has translated deep technical expertise into practical solutions for critical infrastructure challenges, building a strong team around a clear mission. Fernando Casado, General Partner at Inclimo Climate Tech Fund, emphasized that the energy transition cannot be achieved solely by building new capacity; maximizing the performance of existing infrastructure is equally important, and Oktogrid addresses this challenge through a unique combination of hardware and AI.

This funding round is expected to support Oktogrid's expansion in Southern Europe, the UK, Ireland, and North America, while strengthening its partnerships with ABB, Applus+, and transformer manufacturers. The company will also expand its product platform, adding advanced fleet management capabilities and providing solutions for low-voltage distribution networks, which will increase the global potential market by approximately 80 million transformers. Oktogrid founder and CEO Golam Sadeghnia stated that the funding supports international expansion and technology development, with the goal of converting better data into practical value for asset managers.

Elewit is a technology platform under Redeia, founded in 2019, dedicated to addressing challenges in the power and telecommunications industries. Inclimo Climate Tech Fund is a European early-stage climate tech fund investing in companies with measurable climate impact and scalable business models. ABB focuses on electrification and automation, with over 140 years of history and more than 100,000 employees globally. Delphinus Venture Capital is a Danish venture capital fund established in 2025, managing 600 million Danish kroner (DKK), with support from the Aarhus University Research Foundation, Heartland, Norlys, and Salling Group.
