en.Wedoany.com Reported - Amazon India on Thursday said it will invest over INR 28 billion (approximately $300 million) this year to expand and upgrade its operations network across the country.

The company said that after strengthening its logistics infrastructure in West Bengal, delivery efficiency in the region has improved. Four new delivery stations launched in West Bengal in 2025 have expanded its last-mile delivery network in the state to over 100, enabling same-day or next-day delivery for 40% of customer orders in the state.
Karan Chugh, Director of Operations at Amazon India, stated in a release that this investment will be used to expand and upgrade the operations network and advance technological innovations to provide faster, safer, and more reliable delivery services. The investment also focuses on enhancing the safety, health, and financial well-being of employees.
Chugh said that with the expanded fulfillment and delivery network in West Bengal, the company can bring a wider selection of products closer to customers while helping local businesses deliver their products more efficiently to customers across India. The company will continue to invest to further strengthen its delivery network in West Bengal and across India.
Amazon's network in West Bengal currently includes two fulfillment centers, three sortation centers, and over 100 delivery stations. Among them, the fulfillment center launched in 2024 in Panchla, Howrah, has a warehousing capacity of 1.1 million cubic feet.
The company said that over 70,000 sellers and 20,000 local stores are currently onboarded on its platform in West Bengal, while customer demand continues to grow in cities such as Asansol, Bankura, Durgapur, Howrah, Kharagpur, and Malda. The network expansion has also created thousands of direct, indirect, and seasonal job opportunities in its fulfillment and delivery operations.
