en.Wedoany.com Reported - German steel manufacturer Salzgitter Flachstahl has deployed Inform's artificial intelligence transport management system SYNCROTESS to control four groups of vehicles in its round-the-clock internal plant traffic. The system has been fully integrated into the company's existing processes.
SYNCROTESS also supports Salzgitter Group's sustainable transformation goals. The group plans to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 95% by 2033. Transport management must remain transparent and flexible even when production conditions change. Take scrap bucket transport as an example—these buckets can carry up to 50 tons of material. Through a new interface, SYNCROTESS identifies fully loaded containers, and the connected system analyzes material composition and feeds back information, based on which the software assigns target addresses.
Altevogt stated: "We are operating at the core, but thanks to intelligent systems like SYNCROTESS, we can manage this transformation efficiently. The key is that the software can scale with demand and be integrated into existing and new processes."
In the future, SYNCROTESS will be more closely connected with systems such as SAP and fleet management, with corresponding interfaces already under development. Additionally, the company is evaluating the integration of autonomous transport systems, and initial tests of unmanned vehicles are already underway.
