en.Wedoany.com Reported - Nine years into the construction of China's Xiong'an New Area, it is transforming massive urban development scenarios into a testing ground for cutting-edge technologies. A typical example is the multi-source fusion positioning technology brought by a team from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, which introduces BeiDou signals underground and broadcasts them via existing 4G/5G base stations, enabling smooth vehicle navigation in underground spaces.

After the reporter switched the navigation to underground mode, the positioning point on the screen moved synchronously one meter for every meter the vehicle advanced. Different colored bands represent different cells, and the vehicle could traverse six cells within the time it takes to play one song.

The key to this technology lies in the open scenarios and fault-tolerant environment provided by Xiong'an New Area. Lu Zhaoming, a professor at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, stated that Xiong'an, as a city under development, offers many complex scenarios that are difficult to anticipate in laboratories, allowing algorithm technologies to be rapidly iterated and validated. To accelerate the implementation of results, Lu Zhaoming's research team members travel between Beijing and Xiong'an at least twice a week on average, and at most, they can make three round trips in a single day. Lu Zhaoming pointed out that the synergy between Beijing and Xiong'an in technological innovation has formed a phenomenon.

While underground spaces are being illuminated first, the "future scenarios" on the ground in Xiong'an are also accelerating their growth. This year, Xiong'an, through the "Future City Scenario Exchange" innovation platform, released 1,176 scenario demands targeting various sub-sectors of urban construction. Since its inception in 2023, the platform has sorted out various application directions in urban construction and development, solicited technical solutions nationwide for implementation and matching, and over three years of operation, has accumulated more than 9,300 submitted entries, covering multiple technology categories such as intelligent flood control in watersheds and vehicle-road collaborative digital twins.

Wen Botao, head of business in Hebei for Nanjing V-Scene Network Technology Co., Ltd., stated that the digital twin of the entire city is highly attractive to the company, with opportunities in various directions and scenarios including streets, communities, schools, and hospitals.

Building on scenario-driven innovation, Xiong'an has also increased policy supply, forming pioneering policies such as the Beijing-Xiong'an integration and a policy system for the tiered cultivation of high-tech enterprises and specialized and new enterprises.

Liu Xiang, deputy director of the Industry, Information Technology, Science and Technology Data Bureau of Xiong'an New Area, introduced that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, Xiong'an New Area will focus on building the Beijing-Xiong'an New Quality Productivity Corridor and the Beijing-Xiong'an Talent and Science Innovation Corridor, establishing three types of innovation platforms on a base-style basis: innovation source platforms, concept validation and pilot testing platforms, and innovation achievement industrialization platforms, to promote deep integration of the innovation chain and industrial chain, and build a new era innovation highland and entrepreneurial hotbed.
