en.Wedoany.com Reported - Coriance Group, through its subsidiary Réseau Terra Confort, has announced the commissioning of a geothermal heating system serving the municipalities of Plessis-Robinson and Chatenay-Malabry in the Greater Paris region. The heating network is expected to deliver up to 133 GWh of sustainable thermal energy annually, avoiding 31,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions from 26,520 vehicles.

Drilling for the Terra Confort heating network began in October 2025. Currently, the geothermal heating plant utilizes heat from the Dogger aquifer, using hot water at 68°C from depths of 1,600 to 1,700 meters. With the geothermal plant in operation, the Terra Confort heating network now runs on 88% renewable energy.
The total investment for the project is €96 million, covering the construction of 37.5 km of heat distribution pipelines, the construction of the geothermal heating plant, drilling wells, and the installation and renovation of 213 substations. The project received €29.25 million in funding from the French Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME) as part of the "Heat Fund," and €1.9 million from the Greater Paris Metropolis.
The project was also supported by a communication strategy engaging with the local community. During the drilling and construction phases, an educational cabin hosted 950 visitors, including 285 schoolchildren and 451 local residents.
"Providing the residents of Chatenay with a source of district heating that is both ecological, modern, and affordable is a priority. Thanks to geothermal energy, we are putting our city on the path to energy transition and preparing a sustainable future for generations to come," stated Carl Segaud, Mayor of Chatenay-Malabry and President of Vallée Sud – Grand Paris.
