en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Austrian Haidlmair Group (headquartered in Nussbach) has expanded its international manufacturing network by acquiring the Slovakian company TFM Slovakia. The company stated that this move aims to enhance CNC machining capabilities and improve the group's overall competitiveness. The Haidlmair Group currently comprises 11 companies across five countries, with a total workforce of over 600 employees.
Founded in 2009, TFM Slovakia was initially a subsidiary of an Austrian mold manufacturer before being spun off in 2024 to become an independent family-owned company with 30 employees. Haidlmair noted that TFM Slovakia will continue to serve existing customers as an independent CNC contract manufacturer while taking on additional manufacturing tasks for the group.
TFM Slovakia's appeal lies in its cost structure, employee technical expertise, and modern machine tool equipment. Its capabilities encompass CNC milling, turning, and electrical discharge machining (EDM), with services including prototyping, fixture manufacturing and assembly, as well as measurement, grinding, turning, three-axis and five-axis machining. As part of the acquisition, its newly installed automated Hermle heavy-duty pallet system has also been integrated into operations.
Haidlmair stated that integrating TFM Slovakia represents another step forward in its goal to expand international production capacity. The company recently began construction of a new plant in Greensburg, Indiana, USA, having first entered the U.S. market in 2022 by sharing factory space in North Carolina with German mold maker Pfaff Molds.
