en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 3, Tata Motors signed a power purchase agreement with Welspun Renewable Energy Private Limited to jointly advance an 86MW wind-solar hybrid project. This hybrid project will supply renewable electricity to four manufacturing plants of Tata Motors located in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Karnataka, supporting the energy structure adjustment of commercial vehicle production facilities.

The wind-solar hybrid project combines wind and solar power generation, enabling complementary output across different time periods. According to corporate disclosures, the project is expected to generate approximately 200 million kWh of electricity annually and help reduce reliance on purchased conventional electricity for the relevant manufacturing facilities. Tata Motors stated that the project will serve the electricity needs of its manufacturing operations and align with the company's RE100 goals and long-term emission reduction arrangements. In the original text, Vishal Badshah said: "This project reflects Tata Motors' continued focus on building greener and more energy-efficient manufacturing operations."

Wind-solar hybrid projects typically require simultaneous coordination of wind resources, solar conditions, grid access, power generation forecasting, and electricity settlement. The advancement of the 86MW wind-solar hybrid project by Tata Motors and Welspun Renewable Energy helps integrate corporate power purchase agreements with renewable energy development. Subsequent project progress will depend on engineering construction, equipment procurement, grid connection arrangements, and the execution of long-term power purchase agreements. The actual power supply effectiveness will also need to be observed in conjunction with the load of manufacturing plants and the operational conditions of the generation side.
