The project includes a 1 km L Pangersowa Road and a 1.2 km road from the Longchara junction to the RC Chiten Jamir Memorial Government High School. Following the inauguration, a formal event was held in the school auditorium.
In a technical report, Er Waloniba of the Engineering Division III, Kohima, stated that the project was approved in March 2026 under the Special Assistance for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme for the 2025-26 fiscal year, with an approved cost of INR 29.1 million. The work order was issued to M/s Ensign Construction on April 30, 2026, with a stipulated completion period of 12 months. Construction commenced on May 4, 2026, and was completed on June 6, 2026, with the contractor and their team finishing the task in approximately two months. The project includes a single-lane cement concrete pavement with side drains, two culverts, and necessary retaining walls.

Longkumer expressed gratitude for the allocation and support from the Chief Minister, the Urban Development Advisor, the contractor, and other stakeholders, and praised the contractor for completing the work ahead of schedule. He noted the importance of cooperation from landowners and the community in resolving land-related issues, which could otherwise delay development efforts. He emphasized that planned development activities through collective efforts would contribute to the successful implementation of more projects.
The Principal of RC Chiten Jamir Memorial Government High School, I Chubasenba Longkumer, introduced the school's background. Established in 1962 as Changtongya Government High School, it was renamed to its current name in 2014. Local representatives stated that the improved access road would facilitate travel for students, staff, patients, and the general public, fulfilling a long-standing aspiration of residents. The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony involving representatives from the village council and town council, following a dedication prayer by a pastor.
