en.Wedoany.com Reported - Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) announced that Halimar Shipyard, located in Louisiana, has joined its industrial partner network to participate in the mass production of unmanned surface vessel (USV) platforms.

Under the agreement, Halimar Shipyard will work alongside Breaux Brothers Enterprises to construct complete hulls. Breaux Brothers Enterprises is currently building five USVs.

HII stated that this expansion of manufacturing capacity aims to accelerate production schedules to meet the growing demands of the U.S. Navy and allied maritime forces. By leveraging multiple production sites along the Gulf Coast, the company seeks to enhance supply chain resilience and increase surge capacity.

HII noted that the platform is designed to support a variety of naval combat missions, including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. These capabilities also cover mine countermeasures, strike operations, and the launch and recovery of underwater and aerial unmanned vehicles.

HII added that the platform employs a common manufacturing architecture and autonomous baseline to enable scalability across multiple vessel sizes. The shipbuilder aims to reduce production complexity through this standardized design and accelerate the deployment of autonomous vessels to the active fleet.
