en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 7, Spain's Adif completed the construction of the railway access project for Terminal 1 of Barcelona–El Prat Airport. This airport railway access project is designed to connect downtown Barcelona with Terminals 1 and 2 of the airport, and will subsequently serve the airport express line, improving connectivity between the airport and the urban rail transit network.

The airport railway access project includes approximately 5.2 kilometers of new track, of which about 4.3 kilometers are underground, with two underground stations at T1 and T2. Upon completion, airport trains can depart from major stations in downtown Barcelona, passing through Sant Andreu, Sagrera, El Clot, Passeig de Gràcia, Sants, Bellvitge, El Prat, and Airport T2 to reach Airport T1. The airport express line is planned to operate at approximately 15-minute intervals, with a travel time of about 19 to 20 minutes from the city center to Terminal 1.

Following the completion of the Barcelona Airport railway access project, the focus will shift to dynamic testing, vehicle integration, operational organization, and service launch preparations. The project will enhance transfer efficiency between the aviation hub and urban rail transit, and will also provide airport passengers with a more direct rail travel option compared to existing transportation modes. The specific opening date will be determined based on testing, approvals, and operator arrangements.
