The delegation aimed to promote practical cooperation in port, shipping, logistics, and industrial chain sectors through a series of activities, including promotional signings, symposiums, visits to embassies and consulates, and surveys of overseas institutions.
During the visit, Gao Liping held discussions with representatives from several well-known multinational corporations and major shipping and logistics enterprises based in South Korea.

On July 1, at the "2026 Qingdao-South Korea Economic, Trade, and Cultural Tourism Cooperation Conference" held in Seoul, Gao Liping attended the event. Shandong Port Qingdao Port was promoted at the conference, while Shandong Ocean Shipping Group (referred to as Shandong Ocean) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with partners. Public information shows that Shandong Ocean was restructured from Shandong Port Shipping Group, with its main business covering container shipping and agency, oil bunkering and transportation, dry bulk cargo shipping, and passenger-container liner services.
On July 3, Gao Liping attended and delivered a speech at the "China Qingdao-South Korea Jeju Economic and Trade Forum" held in Jeju. In his remarks, he stated that the prospects for China-South Korea economic and trade cooperation are broad, and Shandong Port will continue to deepen cooperation with South Korea, further leveraging the port's hub functions and radiating effects. During the forum, Shandong Ocean promoted the Qingdao-Jeju container shipping route and signed strategic cooperation agreements with three enterprises.
Currently, Shandong Port operates over 30 routes with South Korean ports, forming the densest and most numerous foreign trade route group. Shandong Port's self-operated cross-border passenger shipping routes to South Korea run nine voyages per week, offering overnight travel with morning arrival, earning the nickname "maritime expressway" between China and South Korea. Additionally, the Qingdao-Jeju container shipping route operated by Shandong Ocean was officially launched in October 2025, enabling direct cargo connectivity between the two locations.
During the visit, Gao Liping also held discussions with representatives from well-known South Korean multinational corporations, major shipping and logistics enterprises based in South Korea, and the port authorities of Incheon, Busan, and Pyeongtaek. The parties exchanged views on topics such as building a China-South Korea logistics corridor, establishing an overseas supply chain system, upgrading friendly port cooperation, and supporting the global layout of industrial chains, jointly exploring ways to expand cooperation space, innovate cooperation models, and cultivate new tracks. It is understood that Shandong Port established a representative office in Seoul in 2024. Over the past two years, Shandong Ocean and other sectors under Shandong Port, including logistics and overseas development, have successively registered institutions, established companies, or initiated park cooperation in South Korea.
