en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, a freight train loaded with 39 cars carrying 2,631 tons of high-quality thermal coal departed from Duxia Station, Putian Business Department of Fuzhou Railway Logistics Center under China Railway Nanchang Group, heading directly to Shangrao, Jiangxi Province. This marks the official opening of the first sea-rail intermodal coal transport corridor for the Shangrao Power Plant via Putian Port. The coal was shipped by sea from Qinhuangdao to the SDIC Meizhou Bay Port, then transported directly to the plant by rail, laying the foundation for the regular operation of the new "North Coal South Transport, Sea-Rail Intermodal" corridor.

The unloading of the first shipment of coal and the inaugural dedicated train departure adopted a closed-loop transport model combining sea unloading and direct rail delivery, achieving seamless integration of "ship arrival, train positioning, and coal delivery to the plant." Statistics show that by optimizing the loading connection process, the loading time for a single coal train has been reduced to one hour, and the total transport time has been shortened from over five days in traditional transshipment modes to less than two days.

Liu Guotao, Manager of the Production Department at SDIC Meizhou Bay Port Co., Ltd., stated that the sea-rail intermodal transport eliminates intermediate links such as short-distance transfers, warehousing, and transshipment, reducing overall logistics costs by approximately 12%. A dedicated coal train with 39 cars can carry 2,631 tons of coal, equivalent to the capacity of 75 heavy trucks, while avoiding uncertainties caused by adverse weather conditions.

To ensure the "immediate unloading, loading, and dispatch" of the first batch of sea-rail intermodal coal, the Fuzhou Railway Logistics Center coordinated with the port, power plant, and logistics companies to optimize the transport organization plan, implementing precise control over key links such as loading organization, train flow allocation, and connection operations. Yu Lei, Manager of the Putian Business Department, explained that through exclusive services like "advance train assembly, priority marshaling, and immediate delivery upon arrival," efforts are being made to further compress transport time to within 1.5 days.

In the next step, with the regular operation of this new corridor, the Fuzhou Railway Logistics Center will continue to deepen port-rail coordination and multimodal transport organizational innovation, enhance supply chain service capabilities, and provide railway capacity support for the economic and social development of Fujian and Jiangxi provinces.
