en.Wedoany.com Reported - West Lake Yanshan Technology Co., Ltd. recently officially released its self-developed Micro LED micro-display optical engine "WeiMang," targeting application scenarios such as AR glasses, lightweight near-eye displays, micro-projection, and industrial auxiliary displays.

The "WeiMang" optical engine is equipped with Yanshan Technology's self-developed VGA008 silicon-based micro-display driver chip, manufactured on a mature CMOS process platform. With a pixel size of approximately 2.4 micrometers, it achieves a resolution of 640×480 within a 0.08-inch display area. Calculated based on pixel size, its pixel density reaches 10,000 PPI, providing foundational support for terminal devices such as AR glasses to further reduce volume, lower weight, and optimize wearing experience.

Under established test conditions, the "WeiMang" optical engine achieves a brightness level exceeding 3 million nits, offering terminal manufacturers greater engineering flexibility in optical design, energy consumption control, brightness adjustment, and multi-scenario adaptation. Additionally, the optical engine achieves display uniformity of over 95%, making it suitable for scenarios requiring prolonged reading and stable display, such as AR navigation, information prompts, industrial task assistance, and in-vehicle alerts.

This product represents a commercialization milestone based on Yanshan Technology's 8-inch Micro LED micro-display production platform.

In May of this year, Yanshan Technology's 8-inch silicon-based gallium nitride Micro LED IDM mass production line officially commenced operations at its Deqing factory, with an annual production capacity of 3 million devices. This production line adopts a silicon-based gallium nitride technology route, offering advantages such as high light extraction efficiency, excellent processing yield, and a connectivity rate exceeding 6N, achieving full-chain independent control over epitaxial growth, chip manufacturing, and advanced packaging.

Yanshan Technology focuses on the R&D and mass production of Micro LED display chips, possessing core technologies including MOCVD material growth, semiconductor thin-film integration, hybrid bonding, and three-color vertical stacking. It primarily develops active-emission full-color Micro LED chips and modules.

In the micro-display field, the company's products are used in AR glasses and micro-projection modules, with clients including AVIC Group, BYD, Sunny Optical, Goertek, Rokid, and Thunderbird; in the direct-view display field, it primarily supplies Micro LED chips covering commercial displays, televisions, smartwatches, and transparent screens, with partners including Samsung, BOE, TCL CSOT, and Tianma.

Currently, Yanshan Technology is building a complete engineering system encompassing Micro LED chip manufacturing, silicon-based driving, pixel-level uniformity control, optical engine module integration, testing and verification, and application adaptation. With the launch of the "WeiMang" optical engine and the commissioning of the Deqing production line, Yanshan Technology's engineering capabilities in the micro-display field are accelerating from the validation stage toward large-scale delivery.
