en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 1, MTC Optoelectronics' optical communication industry base in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, officially commenced operations, marking the start of the mass production project for 800G high-speed optical modules.

The project plans a single-floor construction area of approximately 32,000 square meters, with internal supporting facilities including Class 10,000 and Class 1,000 high-standard clean workshops, covering full functional scenarios such as R&D, precision manufacturing, warehousing, and office spaces, forming an integrated high-end intelligent manufacturing system. Once fully operational, the monthly production capacity for high-speed optical modules will reach 1.4 million units.
With the commencement of this industrial base, MTC Electronic's optical communication business layout has been further accelerated.
Currently, MTC Electronic has clearly defined its optical communication business as the third growth curve after smart terminals and LEDs, advancing along three core directions: vertical integration of the industrial chain, technological iteration and upgrading, and global market expansion. At the industrial chain level, the company has completed a vertically integrated layout covering optical chips, optical devices, and optical modules, forming a full-chain synergy capability from core raw materials to terminal modules.
In the optical chip segment, MTC Electronic's DFB laser chip products below 5G have successively passed aging tests and verification and are now being shipped. The static performance of CW DFB laser chip products has passed testing, and customer sample delivery plans have been initiated.
Additionally, MTC Electronic has made progress in Micro LED light source chip technology. On March 12, the company announced that its Micro LED light source chip for CPO (Co-Packaged Optics) technology in Micro LED optical interconnect has been successfully developed and is currently in the sample verification and testing phase.
In May this year, MTC Electronic's subsidiary, MTC Semiconductor, jointly established the "Hunan Normal University—MTC Semiconductor Micro LED Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) Joint Research Laboratory" with the Future Technology Research Institute of Hunan Normal University, focusing on improving the communication performance of single and array Micro LED chips, building testing and verification platforms, and conducting related prototype verification.
In terms of optical modules, MTC Electronic has achieved mass production of optical modules with rates of 200G and below. The full-process manufacturing production line for the first batch of 400G and 800G parallel optical transceiver modules has completed equipment installation and debugging, and after passing reliability tests, it has entered the small-batch production stage. Higher-rate 1.6T optical modules have also entered the rapid R&D phase, with early deployment targeting next-generation data center interconnection needs.
Between April and May this year, MTC Electronic repeatedly stated on investor interaction platforms that in 2026, the optical communication business will serve as the core strategic direction for the company's industrial upgrading, implementing a three-step strategy of precise breakthroughs, mass production, and high-end penetration, with the goal of gradually achieving a leading position in the global high-end optical communication market.
