en.Wedoany.com Reported - Way Brasil, the concessionaire responsible for operating the MS-306 and MS-112 highways, has partnered with telecommunications company TIM to provide 4G network coverage to approximately 270,000 residents along the highways. The project covers a total stretch of 630 kilometers, involving four highways—MS-112, MS-306, BR-158, and BR-436—spanning six cities in Mato Grosso do Sul state: Aparecida do Taboado, Cassilândia, Inocência, Paranaíba, Selvíria, and Três Lagoas, extending to the border with São Paulo state.
A network of 52 antennas has been deployed along the aforementioned stretches. Way Brasil has also installed 300 smart cameras for monitoring along the highways, capable of identifying traffic accidents, reading vehicle license plates, detecting wildlife, and providing high-resolution images to the Operations Control Center (CCO). This technological system supports real-time location access and monitors the equipment and systems installed along the route. Some infrastructure is powered by solar energy. According to André Kazuo, IT Manager of the Way Brasil Group, the 4G coverage eliminates the need for fiber optics, as fiber deployment takes longer and offers less flexibility.
Currently, including the Way-306 and Way-112 stretches, TIM's 4G technology covers 11,000 kilometers of highways.
