en.Wedoany.com Reported - Kinetics has achieved a milestone in the expansion of its floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure portfolio by commencing construction of LNGT Karadeniz, its first high-capacity floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).

The project was officially launched at Seatrium Tuas Boulevard Shipyard in Singapore with a steel-cutting ceremony. The vessel will provide a regasification capacity of up to 600 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd).
LNGT Karadeniz is designed with low-pressure, medium-pressure, and high-pressure supply systems, enabling Kinetics to serve a broader range of LNG import projects and natural gas distribution networks.
As the first in a planned series of next-generation FSRUs, LNGT Karadeniz will further strengthen Kinetics' floating LNG portfolio. The vessel will integrate high-capacity regasification modules, extended mooring systems, LNG transfer and cargo handling systems, auxiliary services, power distribution, and advanced automation and control technologies to create a fully integrated floating terminal designed to meet the highest operational and safety standards.
Mehmet Katmer, General Manager of Kinetics, stated that LNGT Karadeniz represents a significant milestone in the company's growth and its long-term vision for floating LNG infrastructure. He elaborated that by expanding the fleet with next-generation FSRUs, the company enhances its ability to help countries improve energy security while supporting the transition to low-carbon energy systems. This project significantly expands Kinetics' capacity to provide larger and more diverse LNG import solutions to global customers. The company is pleased to continue its collaboration with Seatrium, a trusted partner with whom it has successfully executed numerous projects.
Kinetics is an initiative of Karpowership, focused on developing next-generation floating energy infrastructure to complement the group's integrated energy supply. Its portfolio includes floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs), floating storage units (FSUs), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and other flexible energy platforms.
