en.Wedoany.com Reported - KT participated in a global event hosted by the United Nations (UN) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on the 9th, discussing responsible artificial intelligence and global AI standard cooperation plans.
At the ITU's "AI for Good Global Summit" in Geneva, Switzerland, KT discussed plans to ensure the basic elements of trust in the era of agent AI, including "identity" indicating the agent's identity, "consent" representing the scope of permission, and "verifiability" for proof or disproof.
KT pointed out that in the past, traffic was centered on human-machine systems, but it is now shifting to agents. A system of basic trust elements is needed to ensure agents act safely, and this system should be built on open interoperability standards and neutral trust infrastructure that operate across enterprises and national borders.

On the same day, KT also participated in the "Global AI Governance Dialogue" hosted by the UN, discussing AI governance best practices and cooperation plans. Launched last year, this year's dialogue included participants such as UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Turing Award winner and co-chair of the UN Independent International Scientific Panel on AI Professor Yoshua Bengio, and Microsoft President Brad Smith, along with key figures from governments, industries, and civil society worldwide.
In the sub-topic "Respecting, Protecting, and Promoting Human Rights: Transparency, Accountability, and Human Intervention," KT emphasized that future AI development should safeguard and uphold the human rights principles established by the UN. It also introduced the policies and governance systems established to ensure the safety of AI development, which have been applied to services such as Genie TV AI Agent. KT stated that it will work with the UN to build a prevention, protection, and oversight system related to AI safety.
Park Wan-jin, Executive Director and Head of Technology Strategy at KT's AX Future Technology Institute, stated that in an era where agents replace humans, the speed of technological innovation is important, but ensuring human rights and building interoperable digital trust are even more critical. As a company that both directly develops AI models and can provide neutral trust infrastructure, KT will responsibly contribute to global standard discussions.
