en.Wedoany.com Reported - Island Oil has expanded its owned bunker supply fleet by acquiring two tankers, the Island Polaris and the Island Horizon. The marine fuel supplier stated that this move aims to meet the growing transportation demand in the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions.
The Island Polaris has a deadweight tonnage of 7,700 tons, was built in 2015, and was renamed on May 1, 2026; it was previously ordered and operated by SK Shipping for over a decade under the name B. Pacific. The other vessel, the Island Horizon, has a deadweight of 7,990 tons, was built in 2024, and was also renamed on May 1, having operated as the Marine Future while serving as a biofuel barge for V-Bunkers in Singapore. Both vessels fly the Cypriot flag.
According to the company, these two modern ships help improve fuel efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions per ton-mile. Island Oil has physical supply points in Cyprus, Romania, and Israel. AIS data shows that on July 9, the Island Polaris was located off the coast of Israel near Haifa, heading towards Limassol, Cyprus; the Island Horizon was last reported at the Limassol anchorage.
