TMC Compressors Selected for Two LNG Carriers at South Korea's Hanwha Ocean

en.Wedoany.com Reported - TMC Compressors will supply compressor systems for two 174,000 cubic meter LNG carriers being built by Hanwha Ocean. The two newbuilds are ordered by an undisclosed Greek shipowner.

The South Korean shipyard has contracted with the Oslo-based supplier to deliver a complete marine compressed air package, covering service and control air compressors. TMC stated that these compressors are based on its own design and manufactured specifically for marine and offshore applications.

Hans-Petter Tanum, Sales and Business Development Director at TMC, said reliability and energy efficiency are critical for such equipment. The company's founding vision was to develop a robust, durable, and easy-to-maintain compressor system that minimizes customers' operating expenses, a philosophy that will also be applied to these compressors. Tanum also noted that TMC "may have supplied similar equipment for a three-digit number of 174,000 cbm LNG carriers in the past," but each newbuilding project brings "its own tests and challenges," and the company looks forward to delivering once again in accordance with Hanwha Ocean's stringent quality requirements.

TMC Compressors is an Oslo-based supplier providing compressor technology developed specifically for marine and offshore operations to shipping and offshore clients.
