en.Wedoany.com Reported - Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are key players in the global semiconductor industry and two pillars of the South Korean economy. Benefiting from the growing demand for AI computing power, the price of memory chips has surged, significantly boosting the profits of both companies. According to Altimeter, the global AI net profit pool is expected to reach approximately $637 billion in 2026, with South Korea accounting for 35%, or about $223 billion, almost entirely from Samsung and SK Hynix. Samsung Electronics has surpassed Nvidia to become the world's most profitable company.

Both companies have iconic headquarters buildings in Shanghai and Beijing, China. The Shanghai SK Tower (SK Group China Headquarters) and the Beijing Samsung Tower (Samsung Electronics China Headquarters) are their global landmarks.
The design of the Shanghai SK Tower is inspired by the flowing Huangpu River and the Eastern imagery of a carp leaping over the dragon gate, with the building form rising upward. The tower adopts a pentagonal plan, combining functionality with sculptural aesthetics. The facade, inspired by dragon scales, features alternating large white aluminum panels nearly 4 meters square and glass curtain walls. The circular glass curtain wall offers a 315° view of the Huangpu River, with nearly 360° panoramic views indoors. At night, the lights blend with the water, outlining a futuristic skyline.

The Beijing Samsung Tower is located in the core area of Beijing CBD, adjacent to a 70,000-square-meter central park. The total project investment is approximately $700 million, with a height of 260 meters, 57 floors above ground and 6 underground, and a total building area of 167,500 square meters. It serves as the headquarters of Samsung China. The building was jointly designed by three companies: Shiyuan Technology Engineering (China Electronics Engineering Design Institute), Korea Samoo Architects & Engineers, and SMDP from the United States. The exterior features a white LOW-E glass curtain wall, and the rooftop is adorned with the iconic "Samsung Cube," which houses a sky lounge and reception area, offering a 360-degree panoramic view of the Beijing skyline.
