en.Wedoany.com Reported - The National Chamber of Commerce, Services, and Tourism of Mexico City (CANACO CDMX) predicts that the 2026 World Cup will generate an economic benefit of over 22.678 billion pesos for the capital, Mexico City, and create approximately 80,000 jobs.

With the conclusion of the match between the Mexican and English teams, the football events in the capital have come to an end. Vicente Gutiérrez Camposeco, President of CANACO CDMX, stated that the sporting event became a true celebration, bringing positive results for restaurants, bars, hotels, shops, service providers, and employees in related industries. He noted that strong data and favorable reports have solidified the capital's image as a venue for international events.
Preliminary assessments show that the service sector was the most active during this event. The capital is expected to create 80,000 temporary jobs, covering areas such as customer service, logistics, transportation, and commerce. Additionally, CANACO CDMX anticipates welcoming over 1.1 million tourists, with an average per capita spending of up to 22,500 pesos.
Gutiérrez Camposeco praised the main outcomes brought by the football event, including improvements in urban infrastructure, such as the restoration of public spaces, enhancements in lighting and green areas, and the removal of street vendors. These changes were particularly noticeable near Alameda Central Park and the Mexico City Stadium. He emphasized that the "last mile" plan and the organization of transporting fans to the stadium via RTP buses, the metro, and light rail ensured smooth entry and exit, keeping traffic congestion within reasonable limits.
Gutiérrez Camposeco concluded by thanking the Head of Government, Clara Brugada Molina, and her team, as well as the administrative staff of the capital, especially those responsible for maintenance, cleaning, and security. Their efforts and commitment ensured that the World Cup events proceeded smoothly without major incidents.
