en.Wedoany.com Reported - Clara Resources Australia (ASX:C7A) has commenced high-resolution airborne LiDAR and orthophoto surveys over the Mareeba Gold Project in Far North Queensland, with an expanded coverage area compared to previous surveys.

The company has added approximately 360 km² of high-resolution LiDAR coverage across its granted mining tenements, exploration license applications, and option lands. This is an extension of the initial 39 km² LiDAR survey completed in March 2026 and announced in May.

Following land consolidation in June 2026, Clara now holds approximately 403 km² of land along the Kingsborough Fault Zone, forming a continuous corridor approximately 41 km in length.

The survey, conducted at a density of 20 points per square meter and 10 cm orthophotos, aims to improve detection of surface features obscured by vegetation, including historical mining relics.

"Our first LiDAR survey in May worked well and really changed our understanding of existing targets and new potential areas along the Kingsborough Fault Zone," said Executive Director Duncan Gordon. "After significantly expanding our footprint, it made sense to cover the entire area with the same high-resolution data rather than doing it piecemeal." The survey is being carried out by Mangoesmapping Holdings, which completed the initial Mareeba survey earlier this year. Processed data is expected to be available in September 2026.

LiDAR is a remote sensing technology that uses laser pulses to generate detailed terrain models, including topography beneath vegetation cover. According to Clara, this data will be integrated with geochemical datasets and historical mine data to support exploration target selection along the Kingsborough Fault Zone corridor. Gordon said: "This expanded survey gives us a consistent dataset across the entire corridor to drive the next round of target generation, while we plan to commence our first drilling program at Mareeba."
