Dart Mining to Drill Two Deep Targets at Walwa Tin Project in October

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dart Mining (ASX: DTM) will commence diamond drilling in October to test two deep targets at the Walwa tin-tantalum project in northeastern Victoria. The drilling targets are based on the company's compilation and validation of 150 historical drill holes totaling 7,672 meters, covering the Walwa mine, Mount Alwa South, and Bounce areas, including 78 reverse circulation holes, 59 percussion holes, and 13 diamond holes.

The first target is located above an inferred felsic intrusion that may host a greisen-type tin system at depths of approximately 400 to 600 meters. The second target comprises shallow-dipping aplite-pegmatite dikes that may repeat below known mineralization; historical seismic work has identified four additional inferred dikes, at least 4 meters thick, beneath the dikes previously intersected by drilling.

Chairman James Chirnside stated that the data review has enhanced the company's understanding of the broader mineralized system. "The review of historical exploration and mining data at the Walwa tin field has significantly improved our understanding of the tin mineralization and generated two high-priority drill targets beyond the known large tin mineralized system," Chirnside said.

Historical production at the Walwa field is recorded at 162 tonnes of tin. Historical resource estimates include 8.64 million tonnes at 0.163% tin and 50 ppm tantalum pentoxide (Ta₂O₅); a selective "high-grade" zone comprises 993,000 tonnes at 0.38% tin and 55 ppm Ta₂O₅. Neither estimate has been prepared in accordance with the JORC Code, and Dart Mining does not treat them as current mineral resources or ore reserves.

Historical drilling data show that hole DDH2 intersected 5.1 meters at 0.34% cassiterite (SnO₂) from 7.5 meters depth, and 6.1 meters at 0.58% SnO₂ from 35.1 meters depth. The dataset has certain limitations, including missing down-hole surveys, quality assurance and quality control records, and sample recovery information, with assay data absent for 24 shallow percussion holes.

As planned, the October drilling will test the stacked deeper dikes, potential feeder structures, and the greisen zone above the inferred intrusion.
