en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 12, Australian mining company Midas Minerals announced the latest drilling results from its Otavi Copper Project in Namibia. The confirmed strike length of the copper-silver mineralized zone at its Spaatzu prospect has reached at least 1.5 kilometers, further extending from the 1.2 kilometers announced in August. The latest round of drilling confirmed approximately 500 meters of continuous mineralization in the southeastern extension area, with drill hole SPRC101 intersecting 51 meters of copper-silver mineralization grading 0.82% copper and 19.5 g/t silver.

Drill hole SPRC101 intersected 51 meters of mineralization from a downhole depth of 80 meters, including an 11-meter interval from 105 meters grading 1.52% copper and 37.7 g/t silver; and a 6-meter high-grade interval from 125 meters grading 2.39% copper and 61.8 g/t silver. Drill hole SPRC102 intersected 22 meters of mineralization from a downhole depth of 88 meters, grading 1.34% copper and 36.8 g/t silver, including a 10-meter interval grading 1.82% copper, 53.6 g/t silver, and 424 ppm molybdenum.

Since the previous round of drilling results was announced in August, Midas Minerals has completed 25 reverse circulation drill holes at Spaatzu, of which 6 have returned assay results, while sample analysis for the remaining 19 holes is still ongoing, covering a further strike extension of approximately 240 meters to the southeast. Drilling is being conducted on sections spaced at approximately 80-meter intervals, and the southeastern boundary of the mineralized zone has not yet been closed off.

The latest drilling shows that copper mineralization in the southeastern extension area occurs primarily as chalcocite, with minor malachite associated in the shallow portion. Mineralization is hosted in the Ombombo sandstone, siltstone, and Chuos diamictite, among other stratigraphic units, with some copper mineralization also occurring in basement rocks and the Nabis sandstone. The overall geochemical and geophysical anomalous zone at Spaatzu is approximately 4 kilometers long, of which only about 1.5 kilometers of strike length has been confirmed by drilling to date.

Midas Minerals has completed 6 metallurgical test core holes and is conducting preliminary metallurgical testwork in Perth. The company plans to continue step-out drilling to the southeast, while also conducting shallow geochemical reverse circulation drilling in the area around the Merwe Dome, and to complete the maiden mineral resource estimate for Spaatzu in the first quarter of 2027. During the same period, it also plans to announce the maiden resource estimate for the Deblin deposit and an updated resource estimate for the T-13 deposit.
