en.Wedoany.com Reported - Croatian communications platform company Infobip hosted the Ambiti8n technical workshop at its campus in Vodnjan, bringing together partners from several European countries to participate in the IPCEI-CIS initiative for developing next-generation European cloud infrastructure and services. The participants are committed to connecting different technological components and developing advanced cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions capable of operating across diverse technological environments, thereby eliminating dependence on a single service provider.

Damir Prusac, Vice President of Research Partnerships at Infobip, emphasized that Europe needs an open and secure digital infrastructure to avoid creating new forms of technological dependency. He stated that the workshop confirmed that, through a collaborative approach, different solutions and technologies can be successfully connected into a unified ecosystem, representing a significant step toward developing a new generation of European cloud and AI services. A key outcome of the meeting was the agreement to continue developing solutions in the healthcare sector within the Ambiti8n project, with coordinated next steps, while also exploring the applicability of these technologies in other fields such as energy and agriculture.

The IPCEI-CIS initiative is one of the most important technology projects at the EU level, aiming to create a decentralized cloud infrastructure that provides services fully compliant with European standards. This extensive project involves over 100 companies and research institutions from 12 EU member states, with Infobip's role being to develop a next-generation communications platform expected to significantly enhance digital communications.

Nena Dokuzov, Head of the New Economy and Blockchain Technology Project Group at the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, pointed out that Europe's digital competitiveness directly depends on the development of secure and interoperable technologies that go beyond existing standards. She added that initiatives like IPCEI-CIS strongly promote cooperation among leading industry players and enhance the resilience, digital sovereignty, and strategic autonomy of the entire European digital ecosystem in the long term. The Vodnjan workshop once again confirmed the necessity of connecting European tech companies and research institutions to build the foundation for future cloud and AI infrastructure, while positioning Infobip as one of the leaders in European innovation.
