en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tesla Japan announced via its official X account on July 10 that the conversational AI "Grok" is now available in Tesla vehicles in Japan. To use this feature, the vehicle must have software version 2026.20 or higher and an active Premium Connectivity subscription.

Tesla Japan's official account posted: "Ask @grok anything! The Tesla mobile experience will evolve further." The accompanying video introduction shows that Grok supports voice responses, including navigation route setting, location search, web search, vehicle location, battery status, route confirmation, reminders, and manual search.
According to the English version of Tesla's help page in the U.S., Grok is currently in beta stage. As of July 10, users do not need to register a Grok account or pay additional fees. However, Grok does not support vehicle operation functions such as air conditioning or media playback, and existing voice command features remain unchanged.
The English help page also lists the conditions for using Grok: the vehicle must be equipped with an AMD processor, and Premium Connectivity can also be accessed via Wi-Fi connection.
Grok is a conversational AI developed by Elon Musk-led U.S. company SpaceXAI (formerly xAI). Tesla began integrating Grok in the U.S. in July 2025, with Japan following closely in deployment.
