en.Wedoany.com Reported - Bradken recently officially inaugurated an industrial factory in Chilca, Peru, with an investment exceeding $100 million, dedicated to producing steel liners for mining mills.

Bradken acquired the factory in 2024 and completed its modernization, making it the company's only production base for oversized steel liners in Peru. The facility is designed as a regional hub, prioritizing the Peruvian and Chilean markets, with opportunities to export to Brazil, Suriname, and Argentina.

Covering an area of 62,000 square meters with a building area of 19,000 square meters, the factory can manufacture components weighing up to 7 tons each. Its annual production capacity reaches 20,000 tons of mill steel liners, helping to accelerate production pace and enhance the sustainability of international supply. Bradken CEO Sean Winstone stated that this renovated facility is one of the company's most significant projects globally in recent years, reflecting a long-term commitment to development in Peru. He emphasized that the operation will strengthen regional production capabilities, enabling faster and more efficient responses to the mining industry's demands.

Bradken plans to meet over half of the regional demand for mill steel liners within the next three to five years. Winstone expects at least 30% growth for the company in Latin America, with further expansion potential as the regional supply chain consolidates and relationships with major mining operators strengthen.

The factory incorporates technologies such as automation, energy efficiency, and circular economy, aiming to reduce emissions, optimize material usage, and enhance the sustainability of the mining supply chain. Winstone noted that Peru is a natural extension of its Chilean operations, and integrating both will optimize logistics, share technical capabilities, and strengthen regional ties with key mining clients. Delivery times for customers in Peru and Chile are expected to be significantly shortened.
