On July 10, the China State Shipbuilding Corporation's flood and typhoon prevention work deployment meeting was held at its subsidiary Jiangnan Shipyard. The meeting conveyed General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on flood prevention, disaster relief, and the Fujian fire incident, Premier Li Qiang's directives, as well as the work requirements from higher authorities including the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the General Office of the State Council, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. Wang Guoqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group, Director, and General Manager of the corporation, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhao Tongbin, Member of the Party Group and Deputy General Manager, participated in the meeting via a remote venue and put forward work requirements.
The meeting proposed that all units must align their thinking and actions with the work deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, deeply understand General Secretary Xi Jinping's concept of "four rathers and three not fears" regarding scientific typhoon disaster prevention, integrate bottom-line thinking throughout the entire prevention and control process, make "life first, prevention first" the primary standard for all work, and win the tough battle against natural disasters such as typhoons and floods with the political responsibility of central enterprises.
The meeting emphasized the need to recognize the extreme particularity and severity of defending against Typhoon "Bavi" with extreme thinking, to build a "prevention first, full-chain closed-loop" flood and typhoon prevention barrier with systematic prevention thinking, and to ensure the full implementation of responsibilities in a state of readiness for combat.
During the meeting, the Quality, Safety, and Environmental Protection Department deployed key tasks for current flood and typhoon prevention. Before the meeting, Wang Guoqiang conducted a safety inspection at the production frontline of Jiangnan Shipyard using the "four noes and two direct" method, listened in on and guided the pre-shift meeting, and inspected the flood and typhoon prevention preparation measures for the 1,600-ton gantry crane and large container ships, the application of mooring line tension monitoring, as well as the construction and use of the industrial workers' party building service center and team activity areas.
The meeting was held via video conference. Key responsible persons from relevant headquarters departments, key responsible persons from relevant secondary management units, and responsible persons in charge of safety production and flood and typhoon prevention, as well as relevant department heads, attended the meeting.
