en.Wedoany.com Reported - Swedish deep-tech robotics company Cognibotics has secured €6.5 million in blended financing from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator under the EU's Horizon Europe program, comprising €2.5 million in grants and €4 million in equity funding. The funds will be used for the next phase of development and industrialization of the company's HKM1800 robot platform for logistics and manufacturing.

The HKM1800 platform combines a novel hybrid kinematic design with advanced motion control, achieving delta-class speed while expanding the workspace tenfold compared to traditional robots and reducing energy consumption by approximately one-third. The platform integrates software based on model-based motion control and robust programming, aiming to reduce engineering workload, accelerate commissioning, and facilitate scalable deployment of advanced automation. As a new type of industrial robot, the HKM1800 can perform over 2,000 pick-and-place operations per hour within a 10-square-meter workspace, breaking the traditional performance trade-off between speed and working range.

Cognibotics CEO Fredrik Malmgren stated that this financing is a significant validation of the company's technology and strategic direction. The project is not only about bringing the HKM1800 to market but also advancing the underlying software and automation methodologies. In the official announcement of the latest EIC funding round, Cognibotics was listed as one of only five exemplary companies. The company also thanked GAEU Consulting for its support throughout the EIC Accelerator application process. The project aims to address Europe's growing demand for scalable automation driven by labor shortages, increased throughput requirements, and the need for more energy-efficient industrial systems.
