en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 8, 2026, the National Science and Technology Award Conference, the Conference of Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the 11th National Congress of the China Association for Science and Technology were held in Beijing. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended the conference, presented awards to the winners of the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award, and delivered an important speech. The achievement "Innovative Technology, Equipment, and Industrialization for Efficient Beneficiation and Smelting of Complex Sulfur-Oxygen Mixed Copper-Cobalt Ore," completed with the participation of China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd., and the achievement "Key Technology and Application of Special High-Energy Field Casting for Large Complex High-End Components," completed with the participation of Ningxia CNMC Jinhang Titanium Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CNMC (Ningxia) Oriental Group Co., Ltd., both won the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.

The project "Innovative Technology, Equipment, and Industrialization for Efficient Beneficiation and Smelting of Complex Sulfur-Oxygen Mixed Copper-Cobalt Ore" addresses the challenges of resource development in the world's super-large copper-cobalt metallogenic belt. It breaks through the technical bottleneck of efficient separation and synergistic recovery of complex sulfur-oxygen mixed ores, establishing a green and low-carbon beneficiation and smelting technology system with independent intellectual property rights. This achievement has been successfully applied in Chinese-invested mines in countries jointly building the "Belt and Road," effectively safeguarding China's strategic resource security.

The project "Key Technology and Application of Special High-Energy Field Casting for Large Complex High-End Components" addresses China's major equipment needs by creating a multi-physics coupled casting theoretical system and overcoming the challenges of forming control for large complex high-end castings. This project has developed a series of key components and achieved large-scale application, with significant economic and social benefits. It has broken through casting bottlenecks for a number of national heavy equipment, providing strong support for the security and stability of the industrial chain and supply chain.
